The 3rd Art in Public Places project, “Celebrating the Performing Arts in Joplin,” is a mural created by NY-based artist Garin Baker after extensive research and collaboration with multiple sources throughout the Joplin community. Baker was chosen to complete the mural by the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce Cultural Affairs Committee from a field of highly qualified and talented artists and was funded through Dancing with the Joplin Stars.

New-Mural

Baker has been installing the mural on the side of CGA Architects (facing 8th & Main) in Downtown Joplin since Saturday afternoon (April 26th, 2014). This mural depicts performing arts venues and patron experience from the history of Joplin to the present and will be officially dedicated this Sunday, May 4th at 2pm. All are welcome to this celebration! Parking will be available next door at Memorial Hall. Want to learn more about all of the details included in this mural?
