Wildcat Glades Conservation & Audubon Center – Water Festival & New Exhibit

Shoal Creek Water FestivalWildcat Glades has a busy week ahead! The highly anticipated Shoal Creek Water Festival will be held this Saturday, August 8 from 8am–3pm. Come watch the infamous Cardboard Boat Race, race your own in the Shoebox Boat Race, enjoy Stone Lion Puppet Theatre, and learn about raptors from World Bird Sanctuary. Cheer your duck on to victory during the duck race and learn about water quality, conservation and ecology at one of the water activity booths. This event is free and open to the public.

Immediately following, on Sunday, August 9, the Center will welcome a new art exhibit featuring photographs submitted for the 2015 Audubon Photography Awards. This national exhibit aims to connect people in the community to conservation through the inspirational power of art. Ten (out of forty-one) Audubon centers nationwide were chosen to display this powerful exhibit. We are lucky to have it here in Joplin! The exhibit will be on display until the end of August.
