Each year Art Feeds programming impacts thousands of children in the southwest Missouri area and nationwide. Funding for Art Feeds programs depends on generous donors and fundraisers, and Art Feeds biggest fundraiser of the year is just around the corner! On Saturday, August 22, 2015, Art Feeds is hosting the Second Annual Art Feeds Gala – a unique, fresh, and fun event with every element inspired by art and Art Feeds students. The annual event made its debut last year with interactive artwork, a top tier silent auction, fantastic entertainment, dinner from Joplin’s favorite local restaurants, and every element of the event centered around Art Feeds “for the kids” mission. This year, Art Feeds is looking to top that whimsy and wonder with a new theme, “Find Your Purpose In The Circus.” This year’s Gala will be held in the heart of Downtown Joplin at The Roxy located at 102 S. Main Street. Doors open at 5:30pm. The festivities will include dinner, drinks, dessert, a silent auction, live auction, interactive artwork, face painting, temporary tattoos, a caricature artist, a raffle for a beautiful Comeau Jewelry ring and so much more! As with any Art Feeds event, creativity is encouraged, especially in the way you dress. Join the vintage circus theme with 1920’s or circus inspired clothing and you could win a prize for being the best dress guest of the night. Art Feeds has many surprises planned throughout the night. Don’t miss out, see more at www.artfeedsgala.org.
Tickets: $85 | Golden Tickets: $140 | Table of 10: $850. This event benefits Art Feeds National, Art Feeds Joplin, Art Feeds Carthage and developing chapters. Have questions? Call (417) 626-2323 or email email@example.com.
Can you believe it is already time to pick up those iconic masonite boards from Spiva Center for the Arts? The 2015 Small Works Auction is right around the corner. The Small Works Auction is open to all current Spiva members. Members choose from three sizes of masonite boards (6×6, 9×12, or 12×12), transform them into works of art, and return them to Spiva to be displayed. Spiva hangs them in the Regional Gallery and a silent auction ensues! Anyone (Spiva member or not) can bid on the pieces – in person AND/OR online. Maybe it’s time to join the fun and become a member at Spiva!

Help the Missouri Arts Council (MAC) recognize Missourians who have made profound and lasting contributions to the cultural and artistic climate of the state. They need arts teachers who inspire a child for a lifetime; communities where the arts make it a great place to live, work and create; leaders who make things happen; artists and arts organizations whose creativity makes us glad to be alive; and philanthropists whose generosity makes it possible. MAC presents these awards every year, and the need for arts heroes never stops. You may be one yourself. Don’t let your arts heroes be invisible! Learn more about the nomination process at www.artsheroesneeded.com.
Nominations are due by noon, Monday, August 31, 2015!
