Title: Art Feeds + Bill & Virginia Leffen Center for Autism Mural

Artist(s): Art Feeds

Location: Bill & Virginia Leffen Center for Autism (2808 South Picher Avenue)

Date Completed: October 2017

Artist Statement: In October 2017, the Bill & Virginia Leffen Center for Autism celebrated 10 years of service to the community. The center, which provides testing, programs, classes, and services to area children and families, marked the occasion by unveiling a new mural created in collaboration with Art Feeds. The mural, comprised of fire-kiln tiles, emphasizes the importance of diversity with a quote from poet Maya Angelou: “We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what.” Visitors can view the mural on a stone wall outside the center or on a fabric version inside.
