Summer Reading Art Challenge 2022

May 31 - July 30

Push the boundaries of your creativity and explore visual arts by participating in Post Art Library’s annual Summer Reading Art Challenge (SRAC)! Each year, participants are encouraged to create artwork based on Missouri’s state-wide theme for summer reading. With this year being Joplin Public Library’s 120th anniversary, the theme for SRAC is “libraries.” Beginning May 31, participants can pick up artboards and entry forms from any public service desk in the library. Entries will be accepted for three categories: adult (ages 18+), teen (entering 6th-12th grades), and kids (birth-5th grade). Entries can be returned to any public service desk within the library. All entries will be exhibited in the Genealogy, Local History, and Post Reading Room wing inside the library. For full details, visit postartlibrary.org. Participation is free, open to all ages, and a library card is not necessary.
